Who I Am
Well where do I start. My name is Ryan Minarovich and I am currently a Senior at University of California Santa Cruz. And as you will soon discover I am a pretty hardened conservative thats fed up with both political parties but mainly the left.
Now, being a conservative in one of the most liberal parts of the country is not an easy task. Not only is UCSC an extremely liberal campus it is also very politically active. There is a young republican club with about 5 members as opposed to an entire student body made up of liberals. Trying to make a stand is near impossible, but I'm here to do it.
In this blog I will cover a range of topics from Social Security to Immigration and everything in between. I will try to bring the "under 30" view into my posts to bring in the younger crowd. This is a historic time we live in where the younger crowd is taking part in elections and actually making themselves aware of the issues. The young voter has a unique perspective. Many of the problems that our country has will be overpowering when we are older and the average voter is long gone. We need to plan for the future and not the now. It is with that slant that I will give an insight into the college voters mind. Thanks and I hope I change some minds.

Glad to see that there are other like-minded Americans in my age group! Keep up the great work! And you can thank The Newtster for spreading the word in his newsletter that this site exists!

Congratulations Ryan!! I sure am impressed and proud of you for your interest in politics and your willingness to take a hard stand. Nice picture with Newt too! I had the privilege of hearing Newt speak at a shopping center conference 2 years ago and I was very impressed with him and his incredible knowledge of history! Too bad he is not running for president - he would get my vote! I wish you continued good luck in your final year at UCSC and your future in politics! Hope to see you soon.

Ryan,
I love your site...keep up the good work. I am also a young American(26yrs old) who expects and wants more from our country's leadership. It is sickening to see what these people are doing to us while only thinking about themselves. Anyway, I have a request/suggestion. I am a huge supporter of the FairTax! I feel that this particular tax legislation could improve our country on so many levels. Unfortunately, the FairTax is easy to demagogue. Democrats don't like how it takes power away from them and gives it to the people(the way it is supposed to be). The flat tax is nice but I feel it is a lazy attempt at reforming our tax code. The FairTax is the way to go and should be implemented. A complete overhaul is necessary. American citizens and congressional leaders need to take a few moments to learn about the FairTax, form their own opinion and get behind it. I just think as young Americans who are going to have to deal with incompetent politians for 50+ years we can really change this country for the better by getting the FairTax passed. It will change our lives. Could you possibly put up a blog post about this topic? I would love to see this topic get circulated more and more. It has gained incredible steam and recognition, especially in 2008. There is great information at www.fairtax.org and in the two FairTax books by John Linder and Neal Boortz. Thanks.

Great work, Ryan. I'm comforted to see someone your age has the inspiration to provide a calling voice for young minds interested in the welfare of our nation and it's future.
I am somewhat beyond the "30s" mark by a little over double but I wish you the accruement in wisdom of those years in the success of your site.
Never let your core principles be swayed, my friend.
Once again, congratulations on a job well done!
Joe.
